Caption: Two digital camera photos of one of the FUSE detectors
during Integration and Test at the JHU Applied Physics Laboratory.
The long narrow opening contains the electronic detector upon which
far-UV light from two FUSE mirrors will be focused. The vertical structures on
either side are stray-light baffles.

This photo was taken in Feb. 1998 at the University of Colorado in
Boulder, just prior to shipping the spectrograph assembly to the JHU
Applied Physics Laboratory. The vertical silver "boxes" on either side
of the detector are light baffles that block scattered light within the
spectrograph.
