Caption: What's inside? These two views show you! And the answer is, lots of
wires and cables, electronics boxes, and the Inertial Reference Units, or IRUs (dark box
with rounded corners in center of photo at left). The IRUs contain the gyroscopes, which
control the pointing stability of the satellite. Click on either photo to see a larger version.

Caption: Solar panels will provide FUSE with power on orbit. The image at left shows a
good close up of one of the panels. At right, the solar panels are being tested with a floodlight
at NASA/GSFC. After these tests, the solar panels were removed, and will only be re-installed
shortly before launch at Cape Canaveral.
