Image Previews for JWST are Now Available!

TL;DR — users can now see previews for JWST images in the MAST Search Form. Coming soon™ to HST!

As part of our efforts to modernize our infrastructure, we are working to build feature parity with our legacy search forms, like the MAST Portal. With this month's software release, we're one step closer! The modernized MAST Search Formnow supports image previews for JWST. The image at right shows an example search with the results displayed as image previews. In the example image, two results are selected and ready for download; for full instructions on using this new feature, see our Image Preview Documentation.

We're working on deploying this feature to other missions in the MAST Search form. Stay tuned, and we'll have another update in the next few newsletters.

P.S. You can now toggle between light mode and dark mode! Click the sun/moon icon in the upper right to try it out.

JWST image previews in the search form! These results are for program 1328, observation 27; this particular combination was chosen because there is a nice galaxy in this image. Two of the nicer looking previews are selected and their associated observation data can be downloaded.
